Winter Workouts

Stamford National Little League is pleased to offer Winter Clinic Workouts for 2019 Little League ages 8 to 12.

We are pleased to announce our partnership with Bobby Valentine Sports Academy (“BVSA”) for our 2019 Winter Workouts!

This year’s workouts will be held at BVSA and run by their instructors.  See below for groupings, dates, times, and location.

TO REGISTER: Please go to the Stamford National Little League website, www.stamfordnational.com. On the top right hand side of the website, click on the orange REGISTER NOW button.  Scroll down the list of registrations and click the “Register>>” button under the section which corresponds to the division you played in last year.

SESSION DESCRIPTIONS

This year we are offering two separate sessions.

  • General Workouts - including basic fielding drills, conditioning and batting cage work.   This will run for 6 weeks for 1 hour per week.
  • Pitchers/Catchers Workouts – this session will focus on pitchers and catchers (workout participants will be trained in both pitching and catching skills). This will run for 3 weeks for 1 hour per week.

We are offering this on a first come/first served basis and anticipate strong demand. This is a great way to prepare for the upcoming season.  Please note that we have a limited number of openings - 25 openings for each age group for the General Workouts and 15 openings for each age group for the Pitchers/Catchers Workouts.

We expect to group participants in the following manner subject to registration numbers:

  • Group 1: Players in AA in Spring of 2018
  • Group 2: Players in AAA in Spring of 2018
  • Group 3: All 12 Year Olds and Returning Major League Players (played in majors division in Spring of 2018)

All workouts will be held on Saturday afternoon/evenings at BVSA at 4 Largo Drive, Stamford, CT 06907.  See below for specific dates.

D1 Umpire Toy Drive
For the past 3 years Umpire Tony Olfiero has headed up the District 1 Umpire’s Toy Drive for David’s Treasure Tree Toy Closet. David’s Treasue Tree Toy Closet provides toys to all the sick children in Stamford Hospital’s Pediatric Unit. To learn more about it you can click on this link,

Last year, with your efforts, they were able to stock the closet with over 300 toys. This year we are hoping to pass that goal.

All toy collections will be held at Sterling Farms Golf Course 1349 Newfield Ave in Stamford from 11AM to 2PM. The collection dates are

The delivery date for delivering all collected toys is going to be Thursday December 20th at 5PM

All toys should not have extremely small parts and we cannot emphasize this enough, NO GUNS. Athletic equipment is also encouraged (ball & glove).

We wish everyone a safe and joyous Holiday Season
